Audio Installation Lead Job Description

Position Summary

The Lead Audio Installer will be responsible for installation and setup of large format, professional audio systems. This individual must have an excellent knowledge of the audio industry’s latest technology. The individual should always be striving to improve their education, skills and efficiency. The position will also entail some commissioning, tuning, end user training and customer service. The individual must be able to manage, coordinate and direct a crew. The individual must be able to read and understand design documents and CAD drawings for installation purposes and be comfortable working in lifts, on ladders and in high places that may be difficult to get too. The individual must be able to travel extensively and be able to drive company vehicles with a CLASS E driver’s license. Ability to follow directions, solve problems, work with others as a team and have good social skills to interact well with clients and staff alike is a must. The individual would also be responsible for assistance with installation of video, lighting, scenic and staging systems when audio requirements are fulfilled and as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Installation of Audio Systems to include; soldering, rack building, terminations, prepping, rigging, programming, commissioning, tuning, troubleshooting and operating systems as required
  • Advancing projects by reviewing their scope and understanding required resources
  • Prep work for projects in shop as required including loading and unloading trucks
  • Preparing schedules and other reports as required
  • Coordinate as needed with designers, installers, project management, outside contractors and client as required.
  • Assist with installation of video and lighting systems as well as scenic and staging elements as required
  • Coordinate installation needs with onsite installation manager and project management
  • Excellent time management skills to work on and keep track of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment
  • Knowledge of, adhering to safety codes (OSHA)
  • Adhering and recognizing proper safety procedures and potential hazards
  • Extensive travel to jobsites
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements

  • 2-5 years of related experience
  • Able to work back to back long days if the project demands
  • Travel to job sites as required (120-175 total days per year) Normally, this will be 2-3 days at a time up to three (3) weeks at a time.
  • Valid Class E Driver’s License
  • Must be at least 21 years of age


Education/Licensure

  • Formal accredited education preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 2-5 years but prefer 5+ years of industry related experience
    Prefer experience in Audio system installation/operation

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints, schematics and construction documents
  • CAD, Adobe, and other graphic software desired
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and leadership qualities
  • A positive professional demeanor
  • Able to handle work stress effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of safety protocols: OSHA regulations
  • Excellent time management skills and able to multi-task
  • Able to follow written and verbal instructions with precision
  • Able to communicate effectively with clients and all levels of staff
  • Proficient basic computer skills and using standard Microsoft office software (Office 365, etc.)
  • A good team player
