Project Overview

Hammons Field, located in downtown Springfield, MO, is the home of the Springfield Cardinals, the Double-A Texas League affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. Designed by the local architectural firm, Pellham Phillips Architects & Engineers, the stadium has been named as one of the most beautiful minor league stadiums in the country. The stadium is furnished with 28 luxury box suites, a VIP lounge, three penthouse-style suites and an executive kitchen. Hammons properties contacted Paragon 360 in 2004 for the complete turn-key design, sale and installation of the $1.8 million in audio and video systems for the new Hammons field.

A large-format EV speaker system was chosen and is under the control of a media matrix processing backbone with QSC amplification. The Yamaha digital console allows precise recalling of presets for a multitude of events. Over 137 speakers in all were designed into the project with all the exterior speakers rigged for all-weather application.

Even though it is a minor league park, the stadiums audio is set up the same way as a major league park in that it features a full-range audio system for the stands and the field. The system also includes independently-controlled auxiliary systems for full coverage from restaurants to suites to restrooms, concourses, gaming areas, playgrounds and front entrances. A patron can be anywhere in the facility and not miss out on any of the game action and have their pick of broadcast and or stadium feeds.

In 2019, Paragon 360 is slated to replace the main speaker system in the stadium with a new system from Fulcrum Acoustic.
